Another October in Vegas, another round of conventions to attend. Like always we make the best of it. ;)
After attending our final Cirque Du Soleil show, "O", at the Bellagio we met up with our co-workers at
Serendipity 3 to try out the Treasure Chest which is a chocolate chest box, filled with assorted ice cream, cookies, berries, cakes.
The previous year in Vegas we had meant to find some chinese food or dim sum in Las Vegas chinatown, long story short, we didn't, but this year we went to an amazing dim sum place not too far from the strip.

I've always been desperately curious about the sushi in Las Vegas. Packed to the brim with thousands of different restaurants that are always competing against one another, how does the sushi hold up in a culinary town hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean and smack dab in the middle of the desert?
It's spectacular if you eat it at Kabuto.

After all of the sushi we have eaten in Japan, we felt that we would be unimpressed by any sushi that America, let alone Las Vegas, has to offer. I am not sure if it was the way they prepared the fish and rice, or the quality of the fish and rice they used, but the best sushi we have had this year, comes from Kabuto in Las Vegas. Yes, it was better than any sushi we ate in Japan.
Our co-workers had never been to the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef so we picked up tickets during their Halloween special showing.
It's a long walk to and from the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef, and on the way you can find Burger Bar!
Our theme this trip seemed to be "off the strip experience". The best thai food in Vegas can be found a little bit past the Stratosphere at Lotus of Siam.
A new way to see Las Vegas at night is by the High Roller wheel, a giant Ferris wheel behind the LINGQ. It's pricey but a cool experience.
I almost wasn't able to get a reservation at Gordon Ramsay Steak, but thanks to the amazing concierge at the Aria, they were able to secure a spot! I have to admit I was skeptical about Gordon Ramsay Steak, but it turned out to be a fantastic meal very much like the experience at
Wolfgang Pucks "CUT".
Gordon Ramsay: Steak
The pictures didn't turn out too well due to the bright red light that overshadows the entire restaurant. It makes for nice atmosphere, but not pictures. :P Despite the pictures the food was superb, far beyond expectations. Don't let the Hollywood name on the restaurant fool you, the food is superb.
Hard to believe another Las Vegas year come and gone. Will the tradition continue nest year?
